My 2000 Saturn Wagon is giving me problems. I just replaced the water pump. At one point before I replaced the water pump, when I went to go start it, it would not start. There was gas in it and it was not the battery because all the lights and the radio were coming on. But, it was not making any noise, no clicking, no sound of it attempting to start, no noise at all. I ended up pushing it into the garage until I could replace the water pump. The day I was going to replace the water pump, I wanted to move it out of the garage and it started right up. We replaced the water pump and again she started right up. Went to work this morning, started right up, went and got some gas, made it to work. Attempted to go to lunch today and now it is doing the same thing again. Put the key in, all the lights and radio are coming on, but no noise of any attempt to start. I really have no idea what it could be. PLEASE HELP.....

There appears to be a coule of possibilities: 1) Defective or intermittant ignition switch; 2) Transaxle range switch intermittant; 3) Clutch start switch intermittant; 4) Starter/solenoid motor switch going bad.

Looks like some ''shade tree'' troubleshooting is in order. Move the gearshift in and out of park a couple of times to see if that makes a difference. If standard transmission, pump the clutch hard a couple of times, and try to start. Rap starter with a wooden mallet, to see if it will jar it into starting.
