Default foggy headlight lenses

Don't you just love the way these modern headlight lenses get all foggy? I decided to try something other than the kits they have for sale that cost too much money for the number of lenses they do- IMHO. I bought some Light to Medium Rubbing Compound by Turtle Wax and applied that. What a difference! Take a look. I almost wish the thing had more lights so I could do those, too. Notice I said "almost".

That looks much better, I used the 3M kit on mine. $18 at Napa does two cars.

I think I have the mother's kit but I don't bother w the ball. Even taped off, the coupe recessed headlight design doesn't play well w the size of the ball and if you catch it and it jumps, you've just polished off some clearcoat.

I just use the fine grit liquid by hand

Nice polish job on those lenses... Just a thought, but are those factory projector lights in the second(clear)pic?

Nice job, Ron. I just put some baking soda on a wet rag and scrub mine. Now, they don't look as good as yours, but they do look a hell of a lot better. And baking soda is only about .50 cents a box! Did you hand rub those or use a buffer?

The 'factory projector lights' are factory original. I didn't know they were called that. Interesting.
Yes, I did all the rubbing by hand. It doesn't take too much effort. Thinking of how much the other options cost made me happy to do it by hand. I have plenty left over to do several other cars.
Thanks for the compliments, folks.
