1993 Saturn SL1 Performance Button
#1
Hi! So I have a question. I have a 1993 Saturn SL1 and was wondering, to the lower right of the gear shift [automatic model, not manual] there is the "Performance" Button. Now, If I drive with this enabled all the time are there any issues I have to worry about? Like BLOWING out my transmission or anything like that? Can anyone actually give me an explanation as to what this actually does to the vehicle when you push it? I can feel a difference in the way the car runs, a little more power and all that. But other than a, probably, lower MPG range do I have to worry about anything? The car is all stock, so it's not like I have tuned it up or anything like that, and I just don't want to blow up my car or anything to go wrong, I mean it has 120,000 miles on it so it's not like it's NEW lol. Thanks!

I have a 94 Sc2 When you push the button, mainly what it does in the atuo is the same as if you high-rev a manual. It just makes the rpm's go higher giving you more power. Thats all I've noticed. Anything else it might do is still a mystery to me. And I've worried about blowing my tranny also, considering the fuel gauge doesn't work and my car has close to 200,000 on it, I try to lay off the performance button unlessI'm feeling risky.
