I don't think so. As I recall, the 93 and 94 enginesare more or less identical. There are differences after that. Hopefully someone more knowledgable will chime in.

91 and 92 are interchangeable only with themselves.95 and02 are fully capatible to each other. As for 93 and 94 years, I believe they can be used in the 95 to 02 models with some modification.

Yes, it'll drop right in. The only difference is that there will be an unused temperature sensor on the head.

I stand corrected then. I knew something was different but I didn't realize that it would be something as simple as that.

So I guess the reverse would be true, then? I have a 1994 SC2 with a blownengine and acquired an engine from a 1995 SL2, both SOHC. Would I be able to drop the motor in without problem?

You're describing vehicles with DOHC motos, not SOHC. If you're really talking about DOHC motors, then you will be OK as long as your 1994 SC2 has California emissions. If not, you are going to have to take the head off the 1994 motor and put it on the 1995 block.Edited by: Low Saturn

Ok..I'm gonna play the idiot card here....hahaha.

The car is actually an SC1, not an SC2 like the guy who gave me the car said it was. It does have a SOHC engine and the engine I acquired for it is a SOHC engine as well. The car IS a 1994 and the engine I acquired is out of a 1995 and I assume it to be out of an SC1 as well. (The assumption that it was out of an SC2 was made on my part. Boy I feel like an...idiot now. haha)

So...will it work?

Not as a direct swap. You'll have to swap heads. The 1994 is TBI and the 1995 is MPFI. It would actually be easier to swap in a DOHC engine.
