2000 SL1 not cooling

Hope those connections are secure and insulated. Glad to hear you are up and running.
Did you measure across the switch -- if it is bad it will read as an open circuit
-------
In other news, added dye and could not locate any leaks in system other than the low pressure port itself. It's the only leak in the system.
Had the system evacuated --- even though low side pressure was high enough to keep the switch closed, when evac'd only 0.11 lbs of refrigerant were actually in there -- i guess the rest was air...the system holds 1.5 lbs...
Service port replaced, system recharged, all is well -- my compressor is actually fine, though the bearings are getting a little noisy. Hey, its 14 years old....
I would highly recommend an evac and refill after you sort out the switch problem.
______________
Also, be aware that it also could be a wiring issue betw the switch and the PCM or the switch and the A/C relay, no?

Oh I already did a evac on it, I never charge a system without pulling a vacuum!
Ok now for you guys to laugh...so my old compressor which was shot...when it went, it blew a fuse...I checked everything (relay included) except one stupid 10 amp fuse lol. Now I undid my jerry rigging and am up and running correctly...the pressure switch was actually good, thank goodness...that would have cost me $30. So all is well with me now .
