Did the SL2 have a Double Din radio or are you looking to relocate something?

Did some searching and found a Pioneer Double DIN installed. You should have what you need as far as the deck and mounting bracket. I am not 100% on the wiring.
Do you have a book for the wiring set up. It would be a huge asset for you to buy a clymer repair manual for the wiring specs. Just read a posting that went on and on with no book bought.

Your radio comes with a pigtail, that is a plug with wires attached that plugs into the back of the head unit. The adapter is another pig tail that plugs into the vehicles wiring harness. You connect the two pigtails together my matching the wire colors, i.e. blue to blue, red to red etc. You don't need a wiring diagram if you do this, it will match.

You have a double din opening. The stock radio probably is a single din with a shelf below it. You will lose this little shelf. If you have a CD player, then you don't have the shelf as it takes up that space. There is a second wire bundle between the radio and the CD player, you won't need this any more.

The dash kit is just a plastic trim to make the new head unit look like a factory install, or as close as they can get to it. It may have a few pieces that you won't need, they usually carry these extra pieces so that the same kit can be used on a lot of different vehicles, cuts down on inventory for the supplier.

I think you need the antenna adapter too, I can't remember if I needed on when I replaced my factory radio with an aftermarket head unit, it was several years ago.

You re going to need new speakers in the near future. My OEM speakers only lasted about a month with the head units 22 watt RMS/ch amps. The speakers are 6.75", an odd size, thank you GM engineers.

you have all the parts you need... if you order from crutchfield, you can get all that for 149.99 plus shippng(they throw in adapters in for free with big enough orders), if you haven't already. you shouldn't need an antenna adapter, i didn't in my wife's SL1... let me know how the stereo works, 'cause that's the one i ordered last night for my Suzuki...

for wiring, look at my thread, (*URGENT* stereo installation questions, 2000 SL1)

Youll like the stereo, especially if you ordered from crutchfield... It came really fast and it worked first time...
