Do the coolant temp sensor first, then re-evaluate ....

ok the car will only start if i floor and hold down the gas pedal before i trying to start it.it will start and run.when i let off the pedal sometimes it will stall sometimes keep running.it will then idle just fine and sound real good nice and smooth.once you go to take off...as in press the gas pedal it stables almost stalls, gets a strong fuel smell and will sometimes if i feather the throttle it will pick up and go,other time it will just stall.it will start right back up doing the floored pedal thing.i have replaced the tps,iac and coolant temp sensor, helpped alittle but still does it.could the map be the cause here/ what about the egr valve?please help before i send this thing to the junkyard.

check the vac line to the EGR

Also, if you've never cleaned the EGR, and it's original, and you burn oil, it needs cleaning anyway.

make sure you get a hold of an other EGR gasket before you pull it -- the 19 year old one in there will likely not be reusable

can be the vacuum line to the fuel return regulator valve , make sure you have a good 40 psi on the fuel rail to the injector.
