Just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this water leak? I put a hose
on the door thinking it was the door, but no water came in. So then I
opened up the engine and put the hose on the windshield and it started
leaking. Looks like the water is dripping on some piece of plastic and
then onto the carpet and then down onto the drivers side carpeting. It
does this every time it rains and now its soaking wet because it''''s raining
like crazy. Here''''s a picture of the area where it''''s leaking in.

With where it''s leaking, it looks like it''s coming through the heater floor vent. Check to see that drain holes aren''t plugged with leaves, etc. With the way that the air intake is positioned, water enters as well as air. It must be let out through a drain so that it won''t flood your car. If the drain is plugged, it''ll come in your car. Otherwise it could be from a windshield leak, though it seems more like a vent drain problem.

I have the same problem. i can see water coming in thru the heater core line where it goes thru the firewall. I guess there is some kind of seal there.
Has anyone have or had this and what have they done to fix it.

I just got out of under the hood and I have seem to have fixed the leak, for now! I removed the small black plastic plate from the left side of the box. it''s the panel next to the accelerator pedal. It has three screws. In there you can see where the heater core pipes go thru the firewall. My was leaking there and then pooling on a flat ledge before dripping on the carpet. I used some sealant and applied it on the outside of the firewall. Specialy in between the heater core pipes. It''s a tight fit as the intake manifold gets in the way. I had to work from the top and bottom. But for now it has stopped the water leak. If you get someone to spray water on the windshield you''ll be able to see it. What happens is that the drain flapper is just above the A/C exp. valve and heater core entrance so if the black foam seal dries rot it will leak into the car. Very poor design. I still love this cars thou.
As I have two of them.

All cars have heater cores and when they leak ......... they leak into the car.
