Default 97 SC1 brake lines

Hey everyone. Sorry I haven't been on for awhile but work is keeping me busy.
Anyway, can anyone tell me what size the steel brake line is on the front drivers side and what thread the nut is?
I have tried three different premade sizes from a local auto parts (Canadian Tire) store and non work.
Thanks.

I wish I could help you man, but I don't have a clue. I don't even have a Saturn anymore to even go and check, or I would.

I don't suppose there's a Saturn friendly GM dealership anywhere near you, is there? If not, I don't know what to tell you to try.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and suggest that it will take a 10mm wrench for the fittings on the brake line. Also, check with a local CARQUEST store - they usually have the replacement line you are looking for ....

He's in Canada, Mike. I don't think they have Carquest there, but could be mistaken.

How hard would it be to take the rubber hose off and use it to match up the size and thread. That would get one side that way and with a bit of luck both sides would be the same

First of all it is going to be a metric size. Everything on your car is metric. I would assume that Canadian Tire like the auto parts stores down here are going to be carrying ASA pipe thread sizes or what ever the standard name is for lines that are small. And I have no clue what they are.
I have never found a reference that tells me that information. I presume what you are looking for is the piece that comes out to the front wheel and the rubbler flex line hooks up to it.
I have to go along with the idea of taking off the rubber flex line and seeing if anyone can match things up.
Lacking that capability you are now into DIY land. I have a double flair tool, it has setting for both metric and what ever standard size is.
IF GM no longer sells brake lines through the dealer supply chain for Saturns and with the Dealers GONE the odds are getting slimmer every day that they do and due to lack of popularity and demand the aftermarket no longer supplies brake lines you are limited to salvaging off of a Pick A part lot / Car if there is one or taking your line off and saving the fittings and buying lengths of brake line and making it yourself. I have been there and done that. But I do not know another way around it.
