98 SL1 power window problem
Hi. I have a 1998 Saturn SL1 sedan. Recently my power window on the driver's side door has quit working. It went down today and won't go back up. When I hit the switch to roll it up, nothing happens. No sounds, no slight movement, nothing. All of the other windows work fine. I called the Saturn dealership near my house and they told me worst case senario it would cost $200 to fix. I don't have that kind of money and was wondering if anyone could help me out by telling me how to get to the window inside the door so that I can manually put it up. Maybe once I get the door panel off so that I can get to the window I could fix it on my own. If anyone knows what I can do to fix it please let me know.
Thanks in advance!

The problem I had with mine was the plastic window slider piece. Can you hold the window with your hands on each side of the window and slide it up and down? I was able to do that. I took the outside door panel off and was able to see the problem. I have a 96 SL2 sedan with approx. 186,000 miles. first it was the driver side rear window, then about three months later the passenger rear window slider broke. You know when its going because you hear clicking when you put the window up months prior to it breaking. If it's the same problem, I believe the slider costs under $10

Sounds like the express circuitry module has failed. Hit the wrecking yards for another module, or check with the dealership for the OEM part. Third option would be to bypass the express circuitry, and rewire the driver's side to work as does the other windows.
