I have a hairline crack in the head of my 99 sli 1.9L engine. I may be crazy but I think the oil is seeping into the radiator and into my coolant overflow. I guess this is possible. The car still runs great. I can put a quart of oil in it and a couple of days later its gone. The coolant overflow looks like it has oil in it. Question, how much trouble is it to replace the head myself?

If you're mechanically inclined and have the proper tools and instructions, its pretty easy.

Thanks Mike, I bought this care knowing it had a hairline crack in the head. The coolant low light would come on about every 100miles. I would top it off and repeat 100miles later. I then had the brainstorm to put some radiator stop leak in and this seemed to work for awhile. The car runs great but it is starting to get messy with the coolant overflow resevior. I am a toyota truck person, and this is my first saturn. Its hard to turn away from 36mpg!! Any suggestions on the best place to purchase a new head?

People have had good luck with rebuilt heads found on eBay.
