Hi. I have a 1998 SC2 with 133K all available factory
options. I bought it used from a mechanic. I (and the previous owner) have kept
everything stock besides the K & N air filter I put in. The car is in great
shape, gets full power and 29mpg during normal operation. I maintain it very
well. It’s a great car besides two persistent problems.

The cruise control does not work. The controls for it are
mounted on the steering wheel. The LED light for it works. I have even replaced
the control module for it behind the gas pedal out for a re-manufactured
module. Still no luck. Anybody have any ideas and/or fixes?

I have one instrument panel light out. It is the light
behind the digital clock/radio tuner. The clock/tuner itself works fine. All
the other lights work, including the ones for all the buttons on the stereo,
and even the cup-holder lights. I have to turn on the reading light at night to
see what time it is on the clock, and it’s annoying. Did the car just not come
with a light behind the clock or is mine broken? How do I fix it?

Thanks in advance.

well idk about the cruise control. But the clock light might just be burnt out. You should be able to replace it. Just buy a Haynes Repair manual for your year and series. And it will show you what you need to do. Good luck

Actually it wont. And neither will the Factory Service Manuals. Those bulbs are soldered to a PC board inside the radio. It is possible to disassemble the radio and solder in new bulbs. They can be picked up at any Radio Shack.
