I have a 2002 SL2 that is overheating. The temperature guage is moving into the red in traffic but drops back down when moving. The fanis not coming on even when the A/C is turned on. By looking at the posts on this subject it looks like it could be a fuse, a relay or the fan motor itself. Where should I start?

Never mind...the fuse and relay for the fan are under the hood close to the battery in the black box labeled "fuses and relays." (lol) The fuse looked good, switched relay out with air pump relay turned on A/C still no fan. Replaced fan motor. Problem fixed. Edited by: vslap

The fan motor doesnt go out for no reason. Check your temperature sensor and its connector to make sure it not causing the fan to run when its not supposed to.
