a few problems

a few problems
first off i can hear the belts in the trans chirping when going into 2nd gear. im about to change the trans fluid, any suggestions for better shifts? 2nd the car is hard to start. i dont get many cranks and i constantly have to give it gas in order to turn over. im thinking battery? i put new a new fuel fliter on 1 year ago. thanks guys

If you can hear things slipping and chirping in the transmission than the odds are transmission fix it in a can won't do much more functionally than remove money from your wallet.
Although I have had succuess with LUCAS Transmission additive.
If you can't get many cranks cause your battery is close to dead, than a new battery might be the right solution. Then again the starter motor could be suffering frm the kiss of death. The battery is cheaper and easier to replace.
I have no idea what giving it gas has to do with increasing cranks, it's been my understanding that with a fuel injected car, pounding on the gas pedal is an excersise in futility doing little more than relieving frustration that the car won't start.
As far as the paint comming off, well yuh! It's 17 years old. I have about 100 hours and $500.00 in materials repainting mine 1995 Black Gold.

holding pedal to the floor relieves flooding condition. Are you flooring it or holding it part of the way down.
check pos battery cable for tightness and corrosion

if you have never replaced ECTS and connector, do so now.

My service literature says it has a drain plug. I have not looked at my 94 to verify or not but it is not going to hurt to look for one. Even if it does, the torque converter will not have one so it can not be drained. An alternative is there are machines now that can be installed in the transmission lines that drain and re-fill as the transmission is run completly flushing the lines and the torque converter. General cost around $75.00 to $100.00 or so for servicing OR don't worry about it and just drain and refill what you have and change the filter.
