Default How do i replace the timing chain gasket on a 98SL1

I just replaced the valve cover gasket and realized that the gasket on the timing chain cover needs to be redone aswell. How would I do that? Is there a good article out there about it?

Thanks
Alex

. It is silicone except for the crankshaft seal. You just have to take the cover off, clean both surfaces, and apply a bead of silicone on the cover. Are you sure it is leaking, because that's usually a fairly reliable seal. The crankshaft/vibration damper seal, however, does occasionally fail. It can be replaced without removing the timing chain cover.
