Loosing alot of oil
#1
I have a 94 sl2. White smoke is coming out of the tailpipe when i accelerate fast. Coolant looks clean. Also, I put 2 quarts of oil in a week. There are no drip spots on the ground. The car sits in the same place everyday. The underside is pretty clean with no wet spots. I am so confused, the car only has 78k miles on it. Where can all of the oil be going? When I take off the oil cap there is smoke coming out of the engine. One of the spark plug wires melted to the heat shield under the hood. Could it be burning interally? HELP!!!

HERE'S A SHOCKER: Sorry to tell you this but Saturn, according to a letter the company itself sent out, knew that these cars were poorly produced and would one day develop a cracked engine head. This repair costs about $2000-plus.
FYI: Instead of general recall, around 1999, Saturn sent letters saying bring in your car only if you have certain symptoms for a free repair within six years or 100k. If you didn't experience their symptoms then or you didn't put on a lot of miles before those limits ran out, they now say THEY WILL NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR. But the problem only creeps up after a certain mileage on the car and Saturn KNEW ABOUT IT.
As a grassroots consumer organzation, we are currently seeking other
consumers experiencing this problem with cars under 100k miles.
