hello, i just bought 02'' sl1. check engine light is on and mechanic gave me codes that came back.
po301 (misfire cylinder 1)
p0507(idle air control)
p1404 (manufacturer control emission)
i was reading some of the posts. it was very helpful. just wondering is this normal for this car or is it something i have to worry about. he also did oil change and tune up and light came back on.
any suggestions

The P0507 code is the key code here, it indicates a leaking intake manifold
gasket. The gasket is not well supported around the #1 cylinder and that is
where it leaks. You will find that the idle will smooth out if you spray some
fuel injector cleaner or carburetor cleaner around the gasket at the #1
cylinder.
Its about a $200 repair if done at the dealer. I''ve done it twice now. Next
time I''m going to coat both sides of the gasket with Copper Kote.

po301 (misfire cylinder 1):
Are you sure about that? There is no P0301 in the Saturn DTC list.
A misfire sually caused be a leaking valve cover gasket. Check for oil on the spark plug wells, faulty spark plug wires or a faulty spark plug.
p0507(idle air control):
Could be a faulty IAC or leaking intake gasket.
p1404 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Closed Position Performance) not (manufacturer control emission):
Faulty EGR valve and/or dirty EGR valve and passages.
