Umm, I don't think you need to strip the column to replace the evaporator core. drop, maybe . Even if you drink Maxwell House.

What else are you doing in addition to the evaporator core?

Please do share with the rest of the class.

Ok, false indication from sniffer, discovered the fan will give false indication, they say to run the AC turn off fan and check at drain hose!
I checked Goldie which has no leaks w/sniffer got a false indication.
on tear down of Whitey I discovered a loose bolt on TXV......was almost positive I did not loosen bolt, discovered bottom TXV bolt finger tight w/baby 1/4 ratchet!
Pushed on as I had interior all out.......
So I replaced TXV and Orings
Vac'd system down checked tdy it held for 24 hrs!!
Only reason I mocked up system w/original evap w/new TXV was to conform results of a 150 psi pressure test, the evap passed!
1st Four seasons evap does not look correct...........block the TXV mounts on protrudes out of the HVAC module 2 inches, I do not believe in bending pipes on a new Evap.........sent back to Rock Auto
2nd replacement, different vendor also 4 seasons, same problem, send an inquiry to their product support system saturday
I refuse to put in the 20 year old evap because of all this insane work to replace it.
Will advise.want no one else to go thru this.
