replacing SL2 rear speakers
Hey there I'm new to the world of Saturn but I have just purchased a 94 Saturn SL2 and all the speakers were blown out. I have already changed out the front speakers and I am now trying to gain access to the speakers on the rear deck lid.
The problem I am running into is that the speaker covers a connected to the deck lid cover and it seem to me that the only thing holding down the deck lid cover is the rear seat, and I can't figure out how to remove the back seat.
Maybe there is something I am missing on this and maybe not. Can anyone help me out with my little dilemma?

Well --
Last time I tried this, it went something like this: (1) Press on the two retainer tabs at the bottom of the rear cushion, then rotate the front edge of the seat cushion up, and remove the cushion from the vehicle. (2) Remove the bolster by pulling on the top to detach the fastener, then lifting the bolster off the lower guide pin. (3) Release the seat back latch, and tilt the back forward and detach the carpet. (4) Slide the seat back toward the center of the vehicle to disengage it from the pivot pin, then remove the assembly.
Installation is the reverse of the removal process

Thanks that helped with removing the rear seat. although I found out that the carpet on the rear deck lid was not as far behind the rear seat as I had thought and because of that I did not have to remove the rear seat at all to get to the rear speakers. Oh well, at least I now know how to do it in case I need to in the future. Thanks again.

It's a Saturn. When I fold down the seat it still leaves up part of the back bench on either side of the seat and it looked like (at first) the carpet was fully behind the seat. That just wasn't the case.
Heres a pick of a car that looks almost exactly like mine just with better paint and no fog lights.

Was? lol. My ODO stopped at 160k and that was before we purchased it, and we've had it in the family since 07. With the exception of my brother (who just sold it to me) forgetting to refill the tranny when we changed out the fluid and grenading the damn thing a little over a year ago (user error), this thing has been a damn good, reliable, cheap little daily driver. It still does not burn or leak any fluids and the thing I like most about these as daily drivers is, unlike a Honda or Toyota, I don't have to worry about this car becoming a magician and diapering on me if you catch my drift. This car is allowing me to save up for my weekend / fun car.
