swaping seats in sl2 with sc2
Hey everyone, I used to have an account on this forum before i was sent to iraq, but it got banned for some reason(i guess for not being on in over a year)...But oh well
i was searching for mods for a 99 saturn sl2 and came across this website. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/323724/4 that guy shows his back seats from a 98 sc2.
i have tried asking him if he had to drill new holes or anything to instal those seats, but he wont answer. Does anyone know if the seats from a 98 sc2 can be installed in a 99 sl2 without any modifications.
Edit: sorry i forgot to mention i did check the sticky and it did not show if the seats are interchangable. also forgot to mention, i am wanting the backseats, not the front, from the sc2

I'm going to say I do not know the answer to your question and suggest that you haunt a pic-a-part junk yard with a bucket of wrenches to find out for sure. But on cars I have restored it is amazing the common usuage of floor pan configurations between 2 and 4 door cars. As both cars used back seats with fold down seat backs to extend trunk storage, it is altogether possible that the mounting to the floor is identical with in the same year or body year range. Some times due to interior configuration it is not obvious how much is identical untill you get the seats and rugs out of it to see that.
then again, it is amazing what a custom upholsterer can do when all it takes is money.

hmm. is there any website or book that can be got from a auto place that can tell what items ill fit in certain cars, kind of like the thing junk yards use to find out what parts will fit in the car your looking for.

What Kickerfan is referring to is this;
http://hollanderinterchange.net/
and as it is a commercial item I have a feeling the price range is in the high 4 digits so you may have to know some one to find out
or
contact a deep pockets junk yard that actually makes enough money to afford one.
Although the basic use I think is to find out what other cars used the same front seats such as the front seats from a 1937 Whippet are a direct replacement for 1998 Saturn sedans.
Although I know a fellow that bought a junkyard days from bandruptcy and sold it 6 years later after clearing a million.
If being on leave is a time restraint I'd be tempted to buy what you are looking for and gamble, it could go either way if no one knows for sure and I'd guess you have better than a 50/50 chance it works.
