1999 SL1-standard trans

Had a left front tire blow out. Tore off the fender and bumper cover, broke the driver door skin and pulled the wiring harness from the pcm all the way out of the car. Wiring harness was destroyed. The electrical connectors at the pcm appear to be ok. The new (used) wiring harness connected with no problems.

Replaced complete wiring harness.

Under the dash on the left side there is an electrical connector with five wires. (orange, black, green, purple and white) Five loose wires going under the carpet are there but the connector is gone. These wires are the same color as the mentioned connector and appear that they should be connected.

What are they and where can a get another connector? Can I cut the connector off and splice the wires directly together?

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like the ODBII diagnostics port you are describing.

Anyone with a 2nd or 3rd gen wiring diagram to confirm the wire colors?

Its not the diagnostic port. The connector is small and square. It hangs from under the dash.

Thanks for the response Derf.

Please upload be sure to include a pic from under the dash looking up so we can get the needed perspective on the location.
