Default Which OBDII tester to buy? Actron? Equus? Another?

Hello,

I have a 2003 Vue that is "crank/no start" with Throttle Actuator Control faults (looks like it may be throttle body cleaning or part replacement).

I am going to fix the car myself and am looking into which OBDII scanner to buy. Right now I am looking at either the Actron CP9180 or the Equus Innova 3130. I've read that Body

Control Module faults can't be checked with the Actron CP9180 but I don't know whether to believe the individual or not. I've read that neither is effective in powertrain fault coding (for

instance - supposedly it can't erase faults) but I don't know if I believe that either. I don't know what the best unit would be for the type car and the type repair, please advise me.

Thanks,

Dean

What about a Used OTC Enhanced? I believe that has OBDII capabilities as well as some data logging abilities.
