Default Power door lock actuator found

I have a 2003 "plain Jane" Vue that we bought a couple of months ago. I had to go into the front passenger side door, as the panel popped loose from the bottom.
I was surprised to find a power door lock actuator, that looks factory installed, in there. This car has never been wrecked and the VIN # etched in the glass matches the car. There is no lock/unlock switch anywhere that I can find. Are the actuators installed in ALL Vues and the controls installed only on the cars where power locks are specified/purchased?
If there are actuators installed on the other 3 doors, what would I have to do to take advantage of this "found" accessory?

Two questions come rapidly to mind .... is the actuator properly wired into the electrical harness inside the door, and (2)- is the harness for the door lock switch locatable? Probably have to "add" a fuse to the fuseblock to make the circuit "live" .....

are they possibly already functioning as part of a keyless entry system?

The more I think about it, the tailgate locks automatically, so I wonder if the doors are suppose to lock and unlock automatically?
I guess I need to check the fuse box under the hood to see if there is a slot for door locks.

Not that I'm aware of...
But I did buy it used, so there is no telling what has been added since 2003.

Actually keyless entry was not standard by 2003. My bad

Might have been cheaper to build 1 type of door on the assembly line with all the parts in it and then hook up what the option list called for

Simple experiment might give you an answer -- get in, (leave the door locks up) start the car, put it in gear and drive -- do the locks trip closed?

Second test, you've been driving with the locks locked. Stop the car, remove the key from the ignition -- do the door locks open?

No to both questions. The tailgate is the only thing so far that locks automatically and it has to be unlocked from the outside with the key.

gotta look for fuses...
