S series wheel restoration
Interesting.
I never noticed there is no subforum on our forum that covers Wheels.
Anyway, any idea how much it costs to get 4 15 in Wheels stripped and re-clear-coated? I've seen people do it on YouTube. I am a chemist and I'm not sure I want to deal with those particular chemicals. They look nasty and everyone seems to run away from them. And for good reason.
So the DIY angle is probably out.
Any guesstimates appreciated. If I can pick up a already restored set for say four or $500, should I do that or just have mine restored for the same amount?
The one thing that concerns me about purchasing restored Wheels is that I do not know if they are true. Somehow, the white car wheels induce no vibration at the usual 55 to 65 mph. Nor do they vibrate at higher speeds. After my experience with the black car wheels I am hesitant to put out money for the unknown.

I can't help you make a decision, my friend, but if it were mine and I had the money, I'd have the wheels that are on the car refinished. You know they're in good shape and any other wheels will be a crap shoot.
